A bit of nail art!

I haven't posted any nail art for aaages so it's about time! I am really pleased with this one!

So for this I painted my ring and little fingers with Picture Polish Fairy Floss and dabbed using The Nailasaurus' gradiant technique (with a lot of extra dabbing because it didn't work the first time :p) over the bottom of those two nails with Cult Nails Love at First Sight and painted the other two nails with the same.

Now I have to inform you of the awesomeness that is MoYou. Their plates are amazing, their stampers are squishy and a good size, the prices are brilliant and best of all it's an English company :D Here I used the edge of the tree on Suki Plate 01 and some of the flowers along the bottom in Barry M Matt White.

Then I added some finishing touches, a bit of Barry M Pink Iridescent dabbed over the bottom of the last two nails, a gem and a few little silver studs from the NPW Rock Chick Stud Wheel.

Hope you like!

Christmas Jumper Nails

Even though I have some much more exciting posts I'm posting this one sooner seeing as it's waaay past Christmas :p These Christmas jumper type nails were always on my list of nails I have to do at some point, I had tried to freehand them but then MoYou came along!

Right I did these at Christmas and apparently didn't write down what I used and how many coats etc. so I might be off a bit. I painted all nails in two coats (I think!) of Ciate Boudoir (I'm pretty sure). Then I painted over all of them with a coat of Calvin Klein Hallucinate. Then on the ring finger I used a coat of Barry M's limited edition Christmas polish (that I bought the Christmas before :p).

And finally I stamped over each nail with different stamps from the MoYou Festive Collection plate 04 in Barry M Matte White.

I loooove them!

It's slightly after Christmas now but I hope you all had a good one :p

Valentine's Nails

I'm already a bit late so I have to post this now :p I couldn't miss out Valentine's day nails, so many possibilities! But I decided to go obvious and went with lots and lots of hearts :D

First I painted all nails with two coats of Picture Polish Fairy Floss. Then I stamped all nails with MoYou Mother Nature plate 01 in Ciate Kiss Chase. Oo oo that reminds me, I treated myself to the Ciate Advent Calendar last year, it was brilliant and now I have all these beauties!

So for the middle nail I wanted to try a negative space nail that I saw on One Nail to Rule Them All's blog. I painted on a heart using Barry M Matte White and a dotting tool, which took me fooorever! Then used a cotton bud and acetone to remove the polish in the middle of the heart, which also took me ages :p

Then I topped each nail with a coat of Seche Vite and that's all she wrote!

Of course I had to matte them...

Cute! :D My negative nail is obviously nowhere near as good as on One Nail to Rule Them All but not too bad for a first try!

Soo did anyone get anything nice for valentine's? My boyfriend got me the perfume I love before disappearing off on holiday for almost a month, I think he was trying to distract me with pretty things :p Tata for now!

Fandom Cosmetics Justice League Collection Part One

Well hello! While I'm taking a small break from my nails to sort out my room I thought I'd post the first half of Fandom Cosmetics' Justice League collection. I was going to do all four in one post but I have half ready and thought why not!

I loooove superheroes so I just had to get this, I made myself stop at DC but I might get the Marvel one eventually :p

I am the Night

I am the Night is a clear polish with black, grey and yellow circles, black bar glitter and small black hexagonal glitter. I love the version of the suit it's based on, it matches my Lego Batman phone case!

This is one coat of La Femme grey cream from ebay with two coats of I am the Night. No fishing was needed because it's so packed! I couldn't see much of the black bar glitter when I painted it on but looking at the picture I can see there's plenty!

I own an embarrassing amount of Batman things so I'll stop at my Batarang :p My only problem with the polish is that it was quite hard to get circles off afterwards, but as I always say I don't do the foil technique properly so it is probably just me!

Now let's take a moment to appreciate the awesomeness of Christian Bale!

He is too cool!

Son of Jor-El

I don't have any Superman things to pose with so I decided to do a bit of nail art with this one. I can't tell you how much I love this polish, it's just gorgeous! It is another clear polish with three different shades of blue holographic hexagonal glitters, yellow circles and biiig red circles. Very cleverly based on the suits and SO packed full of glitter! This is one coat of Barry M Navy with two coats of Son of Jor-El, there was no fishing needed at all but I did need to place the circles a bit, only because there were so many coming out at a time (which is definitely a good thing!).

For the ring finger I painted half with Barry M Navy and the other with Barry M Raspberry using striping tape to separate them. Then I painted the Navy half with two coats of Son of Jor-El and lined the middle with NPW gold studs with a dotting tool.

And all topped with a coat of Seche Vite.

So there you have the first two of the DC collection, these guys are next :p

Hope you like them! Do you have a favourite superhero? :D

Nyan Cat Nails

In case you don't already know Nyan Cat, he is a poptart cat with a rainbow trail who flies through space, of course! Here is the song you will have in your head all night:

I've wanted to do nails of this for aaages and recently got some glequins from the Born Pretty Store so I thought that would be a good way to try them!

This was my first time using glequins so be nice! :p I painted all nails with Barry M Navy, then painted on the cat using acrylic paint (funnily enough I've had a box of acrylic paint sitting in a wardrobe for years and thought they were watercolours so I didn't think to try them for my nails, so much easier than trying to paint over dark varnishes with lighter ones!). I painted a white square and the side of the face in white first to make sure the other colours stood out from the blue.

Then I put a bit of clear polish on where I wanted the glequins to go (I did a colour at a time rather than each nail) then dabbed the dotting tool in the polish to pick up the glequins and stuck them on.

That took me sooo long, I don't know if it was the dotting tool or the clear polish but it took a while to pick the glequins up. And by the way they get everywhere, I had to change my bed sheets and had this going on under that first picture :p

Have you tried to get glitter off your hands, especially in this heat??

Overall I'm happy with them, I need more practice with the glequins though! They came off pretty easily with cotton wool and polish remover (a few pinged off before that so use two coats of top coat!), the acrylic paint needed the foil technique to get off.

Hope you like! Are you a fan of the Nyan?

South Park Nails

This is another one from the saved manis while my nails are growing back. South Park is hilarious and I did my usual thing of going back to episode one and watching every episode a few months ago which inspired this :p I'm not sure why I only took one picture but it might be because their eyes are all a bit funny!

This one was easy-ish to do but it just took forever! I painted them all with Cult Nails Enticing as a sort of skin colour, then used a dotting tool and freehand to do the hats/hood (too many colours to list!) and the Barry M pens in black and white to do the eyes (whites and pupils), mouths, Kyle's eyebrows and Cartman's chins :p I have to say I love this one :D

Unfortunately that's the only pic I have of this one, but I do have another interesting one. When I did this I was still using the foil technique (but without foil, now I use one of these sponge things) to take off my polish so it would always come off onto the cotton wool the same as it was on my nails...

That just makes me laugh :p

And that is that, short post today so here are some Cartman gifs, woop!

Django Nails

Django Unchained is one of my favourite films by the coolest director, I just had to give the nails a go!

I based them on the main poster:

I'll admit I did cheat, I used the black Barry M pen rather than painting them on, but using the pen took me long enough so there's no way I would've been able to paint it! Here are some close-ups, I prefer them matted:

Apologies for the crap cuticles, not sure why I left them like that!

So for this I used Essie's Snap Happy as a base, I've never found a proper one coater until Snap Happy! Then I sponged on some black because the poster is kind of grainy, but I think it's just made them look a bit dirty, well the thought was there. Then I drew on the chains with the black Barry M pen. I used Seche Vite for the shiny one and the matte top coat from the Born Pretty Store. I recommend the film by the way, it's brilliant! This has got to be my favourite still of any film ever:

Such a cool dude! And don't get me started on Schultz, I could make a whole other blog on that guy :p

Ciao for now!
